I would choose the left of the two sepia photos for Hallstrom. The B&W photo of him, which I agree is a valid exemplar, suggests that he has a squarish face. The lips seem to match well with the photo on the left. It appears that his left eyelid droops a little (seen on the viewer's right), and that characteristic is present in both the exemplar and the photo on the left.
