The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the hiring of Juan Carlos Camacho as their first base coach.
Camacho replaces Kenji Johjima, who had held the position since the 2033 season.
Speculation is the move was made due to the defensive struggles of the team’s infielders in the early part of the 2036 season.
Johjima, 58, had taken on those duties following the retirement of bench coach Buddy Carlyle after the 2035 season.
Camacho spent the 2033 through 2035 season as the first base coach for the Toledo Mud Hens.
