A bit lighter in the early rounds than before, as with the advent of pick trading we ended up dealing our 4th and 5th round picks in separate trades. As for the guys we did take:
Thurgood: A high-school 3B out of Missouri who projects to have above-average power and patience but has a bit of a questionable hit tool.
Payne: The Georgia high-school RF has a more rounded potential at the plate with OSA seeing him with potential 65 contact and power, while my scouts are less bullish on the contact (50)
Stedman: A college starter from Kansas who throws hard (95-97) but is more of a groundballer than a strikeout artist, with excellent movement potential and questionable control.
Hayes: A college OF from the University of San Francisco with big-time power potential and good patience, but yeah as you might expect, contact is a concern. He's a decent defensive OF as well.
Moranchel: The FIU alum is listed as a pitcher but looking under the hood he's probably better suited as a hitter where he has potential 60 contact and 60 power as well as a 50 eye. His bonus demands are high but we'll sign him.
