The Rays are
very well-represented in this year's All-Star game, details as follows:
So yeah, we have the starting catcher, 2B, all 3 outfielders and the DH, or 6 of the 9 lineup spots. Not to mention the starter (who should start since he pitched last on Thursday) and the closer. So it'll almost be like another game for the team.
The Home Run Derby:
Daniel Vasquez was the only Rays' participant and he was knocked in the first round by MLB HR leader Andy Hannan of the Rockies, sitting on 35 at the moment.
The game itself:
The Rays beat the National League 13-5, or at least it seemed that way. Tampa Bay hitters went a combined 7-15 with a homer, 4 RBI and a steal with Danny Ayala going deep. Danny Romero had a scoreless 1st and with the game a blowout in the end, Kikuo Kawase wasn't used.
