You can always run tests when switching over just to make sure things stay in the order you like.
I was thinking more about how some players seem to take a talent hit simply because you import your league from one version to the next.

For example, the Top 20 player rankings between OOTP21 & 22 do not match, even though the snapshot is taken on the same League day. Most of the changes are not significant but as shown below, there are a couple of variances that stand out, such as Yoshida who falls quite a bit and Qian who disappears completely.

The Pitcher rankings are not as severe. The only big one is with Ted Smith.

The prospect ranking lists on the other hand remained exactly the same, so I don't know what's going on.

It would just be a shame for Team A to have spent some time building up a solid team only to have a bunch of their players take a talent hit simply because of the vagaries of a league import. If that in fact can happen. That's my concern.

Edit: here's the player page for Qian from OOTP21 (top) and OOTP22 and there is definite talent hit just from importing. Even the scouting level has changed which makes so sense. It's these seemingly random penalties just from importing that concern me. I don't know if its because something has been done under the hood in OOTP22 that it evaluates players slightly differently (ie. amore accurately) or what.
