Walkers news: May 29 -- Eason sent to AAA; Westerman gets called up from IR
The St. Louis River Walkers have called up right-handed reliever Bobby Westerman from AAA Memphis, where he was on an injury rehab.
The Walkers re-signed Westerman as a free agent after the 2035 season.
Westerman, 27, had been acquired from Madison just before the trade deadline in 2035.
He pitched in 18 games for St. Louis after the trade, going 1-1 with 15 saves and a 0.98 ERA.
The right-hander suffered a herniated disk during spring training.
He started the season at Memphis, getting into five games and going 1-1 with two saves and a 4.30 ERA.
Due to Westerman's injury, Eason, 28, started the season in the majors.
He pitched in 23 games, going 2-3 with a 5.44 ERA.
Eason surrendered a game-winning two-run homer to Louisville's Dan Boyle in the bottom of the ninth inning in his final appearance with the Walkers.
