Walkers news: June 6 -- Evansville 4, St. Louis 3

Record: 36-21, 1st, 4 GA Springfield
Down 3-1, Evansville scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat St. Louis 4-3 at Yankee Stadium (1988).
The River Walkers jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning -- Marcos Francis drove both runs in with a double off Bosses starting pitcher Ramon Leon -- and another in the fifth -- Bob Saavedra led off with a triple and scored on a Mark Herman single -- but they would not score again.
Errors by St. Louis shortstop Abdul-Nasser bin Amr and third baseman Bob Saavedra led to Jamie Mora scoring an unearned run against Walkers starter Josh McDonald. in the sixth.
McDonald left the game after seven innings, and the Bosses pounced on St. Louis reliever Greg Sones in the eighth.
Danny Ocampo led off the inning with a walk, before Sones retired the next two.
Waldon then cranked out his 15th homer of the season on a 1-1 pitch, powering it 437 feet over the wall in left to tie the game.
Esteban Dominquez followed with a single, chasing Sones in place of Scott Rissler.
Aaron Nixon, who played for St. Louis last season, greeted Rissler with a double to score Dominguez with the winning run.
Leon lasted six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. He struck out five and walked two.
After that, it was Bobby Stover, Stephon Harrison and Nate Green with a scoreless inning apiece.
Harrison (3-1) earned the win.
Green notched his second save of the season.
