stlcardsfan - Several of the Cincinnati Reds prospects you listed above turned out to be phantom major leaguers. Leo Seiffert did not leave the Reds before the 1921 season started, which was on April 13. He was reported to be with them on May 1 in St. Louis and scheduled to pitch for them in an exhibition game in Decatur, Illinois the next day. The Cincinnati Post of May 9 reported the Reds' dropping him because "his pitching elbow is out of whack. He probably will visit Bonesetter Reese early this week." Catcher Tom Conway lasted with the Reds until April 27, when he was released. Outfielder Paul "Biz" Dawson had been with the Reds the previous year. They had signed him off the campus of West Virginia University and he joined the Reds on July 30, 1920 in New York. Shortstop Bill Schirmer was with the Reds until April 26, when he was released to St. Paul of the American Association. Infielder Carl Schmehl also went to St. Paul, but on April 28.
stlcardsfan has already posted two photos of Leo Seiffert. If anyone wants photos of the others posted, let me know. My photo of Dawson shows him in a basketball uniform, but otherwise I have photos of these guys in baseball uniforms.
