A good start...
The Rays survived a pair of early 2-run homers by Austin Hays off
Tyler Glasnow and ended up comfortably taking Game 1 of the ALDS 9-4. Hays shocked the Trop crowd with his first 2-run homer off Glasnow three batters into the game, but
Adley Rutschman and
Austin Meadows went back-to-back to tie it up in the 2nd, and that begat a rally which saw 3 more runs score. And after Hays' second homer got the O's within 5-4,
Jarren Duran, who had an RBI single in the 2nd, had a big 2-run single to open up the game again. Glasnow settled in from there, and
Guillermo Zuniga turned in two impressive innings of relief.
Dustin May will try to make it 2-0 Rays in the series tomorrow.
