Things didn't look good early for Tampa Bay as
Tarik Skubal gave up a couple of solo homers (one to Austin Hays, his 4th in 3 games) and the offensive frustrations of Game 2 continued for the first 4 innings of Game 3. But the Rays went on a hitting spree, scoring 12 runs over the next 3 innings and routed the Orioles to take a 2-1 series lead. The box above will tell you who did what as it was a team effort, but
Wander Franco was more equal than the others. Skubal gave up a 3rd homer but got the win with 9 whiffs in 5 innings and
Joe Ryan will look to close out the series tomorrow. Baltimore lost more than the game as well, as Javy Baez was injured trying to turn a double play in the 9th inning and suffered a herniated disc, ending his ALDS and keeping him out of the ALCS should the Orioles advance.
