Oh good,
the Mets sign over-the-hill 30+ year-olds again.
Quote:
NEW YORK -- No longer content to sit out baseball’s early offseason proceedings, the Mets struck three times in emphatic fashion on Friday evening, agreeing to terms with outfielders Starling Marte and Mark Canha as well as infielder Eduardo Escobar, according to sources.
According to a source, the Mets agreed to a four-year, $78 million contract with Marte late in the night, tacking him onto a banner evening that already included two-year handshakes with Canha for $26.5 million (with a third-year option), and Escobar for $20 million. All three deals are pending physicals. The team has not acknowledged them because they are not yet official.

Well, perhaps not over-the-hill, but sub-par defenders for sure. And I take adding two outfielders means we're no longer trying to bring back Conforto?
Not thrilled about the Canha signing especially. He always struck me as a first baseman and little else. And we already have a first baseman.
Speaking of first baseman, when you posted above, I thought they'd traded Pete for something. That's where the baseball gods can still get me, by robbing me of Pete!
