Edit: Apologies for double-post.

Seems that initially I did not have "Allow Image BB Code" permissions as listed on the bottom of the page when in 'edit signature' section. Not sure what trigerred this to 'yes' instead of 'no', but might be what some others have also been tripped up on. Maybe related to being a new registered user? Works now at any rate!
