If she definitely knew the Lord as needed to the best of her ability, and was saved, she is already rejoicing in His presence, just as sure as my brother must be doing now. You can take comfort in that fact, if that was true of her in her life. One day, all this pain and everything else that is bad from this world will be no more, gone for all eternity, for those who truly knew, know, and will know, the Lord in their lives, from the most powerful to the least powerful in this world.
There's only so much we can do in our mortal lives, jg2977, even if we want to do more in them than we're actually able to do. For instance, I have always wanted to see Israel in person for myself in this life, but for various reasons, often ones beyond my control, if not entirely so, I have not YET been able to get there and back, if I ever will be able to in it somehow.
With the way things now are in this world or likely to soon be in it, I would, if I didn't trust God to make a way when there seems to be no way, according to His will, probably doubt the chances of that ever being possible for me to do. BUT, and this is a very important BUT, if He ever decides to make it possible for me, there will be no power on Earth strong enough to keep His will about that sort of thing from ever being accomplished in my life.
The KJV Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:
1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace;
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboreth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of man to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before Him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
I hope this passage from Ecclesiastes helps you and all those close enough to her in your friend's life find great comfort in the future, whether near or far, jg2977. Take whatever time you need to recover from this loss, and know that if you need some advice about things, and you believe I can give you that advice well enough, then feel free to let me know, privately or not, in the future.
