The increase of the injury setting from EXTREMELY LOW to LOW in 1919 has triggered a raft of injuries aberrant to what I am looking for in this save. While I do want DtD injuries and some longer-term ones, what I do NOT want is elite players losing long periods of time to injuries that they never suffered IRL, thereby messing with their statistical output.
So from 1920 onward, I will be incorporating some rules to counter this.
All players who were at one time – past, or present – either a Legacy or Marquee player will have limits put on the length of time they can miss due to injury, as follows:
- for years in which they were still active IRL, 60 days
- for years in which they were inactive IRL, 90 days
The only exception to this is if they suffered a corresponding injury IRL within a 3-year range of any suffered in the game. In this case, the injury time will be set to the same amount as the IRL, less any other in-game injury time accumulated over that 3-year span.
Furthermore, the top 100 NeL players (as per the HOME MLE list) will be limited to 120-day stretches on the IL.
These rules have been applied retrospectively to all eligible players with current injuries.
This will undoubtedly – but hopefully not – need some further tinkering. Hopefully, the game settles down again on this front to realistic levels.
