May 21-22, 2041: vs LA Dodgers (2)

Game 1: The Rays got past a rough early inning from Danny Romero to take an 8-4 win over the Dodgers at Publix Park. Romero served up a 3-run dinger to NL HR champ Kevin Crater in the 3rd, but the Rays fought back thanks in large part to Andy Ruggles, who hit a 3-run HR in the 1st (#12) and then doubled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 4th. Jeff Baez added a 2-run double for insurance in the 8th and Romero got the win despite going 6 6 4 4 1 5 as he went to 7-1.

Game 2: Today's game was almost a carbon copy of yesterday's with the Rays' starter getting into early HR trouble but the offense storming back and the final score was almost the same as they won 7-4. Brad Jackson gave up 3 runs in the 4th on homers to former Rays Dayle Jenkins and Eric Titcombe but like yesterday the Rays immediately responded, this time putting up 4 in the bottom of the inning keyed by RBI hits from Kevin Morley (who was 3-4) and Mike Willis. Josh Alexander had a pair of RBI singles and Seth Williams drove in 3 with a single and a fielder's choice. Jackson got the win just like Romero yesterday despite not pitching great as his 6 5 4 4 2 5 line improved his record to 8-0, 2.51. Kikuo Kawase nailed down save #14.

Team record: 41-7. Next up: 4 games in Cleveland.
