Josh Alexander blasted a 2-run HR (#18) in the 1st, Jose Mendez had an RBI triple and Josh Beckett singled home Mendez to send the Rays on their way. That was more than enough for Romero, who went 8 4 1 1 0 5 to improve to 10-1, 2.84.

Game 2: Brad Jackson hurled his second consecutive complete-game shutout as the Rays took care of the Yankees 4-0.
