Help for the tactics screen
Hello!
Just something I'd been thinking more about, when I started playing the game a couple of months ago I knew nothing about Hockey at all, so as such the tactics screen seemed incredibly overwhelming.
Now I find myself more familiar with the difference concepts and various phases of play enough to be comfortable setting the tactics myself (thanks to watching plenty of hockey and playing plenty of NHL22 as well as watching various YT play throughs and tutorials etc).
However, when playing as franchises where I am not 100% familiar with the roster(everyone apart from my selected team CBJ) and their strengths it would be so helpful if there were team info provided for your current franchise on the tactics screen, so you can select the correct concepts to match your teams strengths without needing to go back and check the roster page etc.
I know some games have AI recommended tactics that fit like football manager ("Your assistant manager believes XXXX system best suits our current crop of players) etc but in this case I think you could get away with adding something as basic as average ratings for the team in certain categories...So for instance:
Breakout - "Stretch" currently selected, the game states its for wingers with good passing and skating skills. So a small toast message containing "FWD's Av Skt- 16 Av Pas - 17" or something along those lines would be SO helpful if you hover your mouse over it or something.
OZ Attacking - "Crash The Net" - "FWD's Av Str - 17 Av Bra - 15"
etc etc
The game already provides this information, it's all there in the roster screen on a player by player basis, it would just be so useful to have it to hand in some way when looking at the tactics.
I am someone who likes to micromanage as many aspects of sports sims as I can do so reliably and I find myself leaning away from the tactics a lot of the time just because I have to keep flicking between screens and working out the information myself in order to make the most informed decisions. I'd like to think that the tactics contribute meaningfully to the game engine and I feel like something like this would be a way to help new and regular players make more informed decisions as once you're well into the future all of your players are fictional anyway, so it's not like you can even get by on knowing players strengths and styles in real life.
Just a thought and thanks for an awesome game!
