Rookie Abdul-Nasser bin Amr connected on a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning to score Marcos Francis and give St. Louis a 5-4 win over Quad City at Busch Stadium (2006).
Francis had drawn a one-out walk from Thunder relief pitcher Angelo Touliatos.
A two-out walk to Jose Segura had moved Francis to second.
Joe Wahl then replaced Touliatos.
Bin Amr connected on his game-winning hit on a 3-2 pitch, driving it up the middle.
A solo homer from Collin Allen off River Walkers starting pitcher Shane Drogo had tied it at 4-4 in the top of the sixth.
The Thunder's Paul Totten hit a three-run homer off Drogo in the top of the first to put his team up 3-0.
Bob Saavedra led off the bottom of the first with a homer off Thunder starting pitcher Pascal Marcovicci.
A solo homer from Manuel Coke in the fourth and an RBI single from Jackson Miller in the fifth, both off Marcovicci, had allowed St. Louis to move ahead 4-3.
Drogo allowed four runs on seven hits over the first six innings. He stuck out seven and walked two.
Bobby Westerman worked two innings of scoreless relief.
Nick Ruffalo (1-2) did the same in the ninth, setting himself up for the win.
