Tied 5-5, St. Louis tallied two runs in the top of the 10th inning and went on to defeat Rockford 7-5 at RFK Stadium (2005).
Lightning reliever Ferrie Stolk struck out Eddie Estrella to begin the top of the 10th.
Zach Wenman followed with a single, and when Chris Duncan reached on a bunt the River Walkers had two runners aboard.
Stephen Von Lehmden took over the mound duties for Rockford.
Nathaniel Dixon greeted him with a double, with Wenman winding up at third.
Bob Saavedra scored Wenman with a fly ball to left.
St. Louis tallied twice in both the first and fifth innings, to go up 4-0.
The Lightning got their first run in the bottom of the fifth against Walkers starter Josh McDonald.
Daylen Reyes singled and scored on a two-out double by Ernesto Ferreras.
Rockford then tied it with three runs off McDonald in the sixth.
Jared Braude plated two of the runs with a homer.
St. Louis went up 5-4 in the top of the seventh.
Manuel Coke was hit by a Pablo Ochoa pitch to open the inning.
He scored on a two-out single by Jose Segura.
The Lightning tied it in the bottom of the eighth on a pinch-hit single by Greg Bernier off Armando Cintron.
Coffey, also a pinch-hitter, had reached on a two-out double off Bobby Westerman.
McDonald pitched six innings for St. Louis, allowing four runs on five hits. He struck out four and walked the same.
Greg Sones allowed a pair of hits and retired just one batter in the seventh.
Westerman finished the seventh and got the first two outs of the eighth.
Cintron finished the eighth and got the first out of the ninth.
Walkers closer Nick Strother (6-2) allowed just one base runner over the final 1.2 innings to earn the win.
