Walkers news: Sept. 9 -- St. Louis 5, Rockford 3, 10 innings

Nick Shaw hit a two-run home run off Rockford relief pitcher Ferrie Stolk with one out in the top of the 10th inning to help lift St. Louis to a 5-3 win at RFK Stadium (2005).
Marcos Francis had singled just in front of Shaw.
Shaw followed that up by blasting an 1-1 pitch 403 feet over the right-field wall for his 20th homer of the season.
The Lightning had tied it with two outs in the bottom of the ninth when Javy Monjaraz homered off River Walkers reliever Nick Ruffalo.
St. Louis had taken a 3-1 lead with a three-run top of the fifth.
Jose Segura led off the inning with a homer off Lightning ace Melvin Chavez.
Eddie Estrella followed with a single, and a double by Abdul-Nasser bin Amr had put runners at second and third.
Pitcher Shane Drogo scored Estrella with a bunt.
Abdul-Nasser bib Amr crossed the plate with Bob Saavedra hit into a fielder's choice.
Rockford made it 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, when Jared Braude led off the inning with a single off Drogo.
He scored when David Blanton followed with a double.
Drogo worked five innings, allowing two runs on six hits. He struck out four and didn't issue a walk.
Scott Rissler worked two innings of scoreless relief, following Drogo.
Ron Cox didn't allow a base runner in a silent eighth.
Ruffalo got the first out of the ninth.
Weldon (6-2) got the other two, setting himself up for the win.
Nick Strother pitched the 10th and notched his 27th save.
