Walkers news: Sept. 11 -- St. Louis 7, Cincinnati 3

A red-hot month of September for the St. Louis River Walkers as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 5.5 innings and went on to defeat Cincinnati 7-3 at Riverfront Stadium (1984).
The loss was the sixth in a row for St. Louis and moved Walkers to 10-1 since the start of the month.
Jose Segura connected for an RBI triple off River Sharks starting pitcher Chris Novotny and later scored on a Abdul-Nasser bin Amr fly ball to highlight a two-run top of the second inning.
In the sixth, Manuel Coke and Marcos Francis hit back-to-back homers off Novotny to open the inning and push that advantage to 4-0.
Cincinnati did pull to within 4-3, with two runs off Walkers starter Xavier Wigfall in the bottom of the sixth.
A wild pitch scored one run while Tom Aloisio drove in the other with a two-out single off Nick Ruffalo.
Jonathan Hodges connected on for an RBI single off Bobby Westerman with one out in the seventh.
St. Louis added two insurance runs in the top of the ninth.
Segura scored for the second time.
This time he led off with a double off Carlos Aguirre.
A bin Amr single moved Segura to third, and a third consecutive hit, this one a single from Zach Wenman, sent him across the plate.
Later, bin Amr scored on a two-out single by Coke off Braxton Ashcraft.
Wigfall (12-9) worked five shutout innnings, but didn't record an out in the sixth.
He still earned the win, allowing two runs on five hits. He struck out five and walked three.
Ruffalo got all three outs in the sixth inning, and the first one in the seventh.
After that, it was Bobby Westerman and Greg Sones recording three outs apiece.
Scott Rissler stepped in to record the final two outs of the game.
