Alas, the Notepad (not Word) way is the best way. The alternative is to do one player at a time. By doing the Notepad, though, you have the advantage of messing up something in the set-up of the game, starting over, fixing the Game Setting you want to tweak... and then with a single import click, bringing all the greats back ... as opposed to hundreds and hundreds of individual imports to get back to square one after realizing you missed a macro world setting you want to tweak.
