Another big, big game.

Today the Padres are pitching Bryn Smith (8-16, 3.15).

The Giants have Rick Sutcliffe (10-11, 3.66).

I have gone 9 for 28, or .237, against Smith.

Let's go!
I started by popping out to Randy Ready at 3rd.

We struck first, in the 2nd, when Robby Thompson scored on an Alan Cockrell single.

Giants lead 1-0

I came up with one out in the 3rd and flew out to Gary Pettis in centre.

Ryan Klesko led off the 4th with a home run.

Giants lead 2-0

In the bottom of the 4th we turned a Priske - Thompson - Deer double play to get Tony Gwynn and John Kruk.

I came up in the 5th with one out, Alan on 3rd, and Tim Naehring on 2nd. I flew out to Pettis again, but this time it was a sac fly as both Alan and Tim advanced.

Giants lead 3-0

The Padres got on the board in the 5th when Junior Felix scored on a Torey Lovullo double.
I took care of a Smith grounder for the 3rd out.

Giants lead 3-1

I caught an Ozzie Guillen pop for the 2nd out in the bottom of the 6th.

I came up in the 7th with two out and Rick on 2nd. I grounded out to Ready at 3rd.

Rob Deer homered in the 8th.

Giants lead 4-1

Mark Davis took over for us in the 8th.
I took care of a Pettis grounder for the 3rd out.

I came up in the 9th with one out, Tim on 3rd, pinch hitter Mike Aldrete on 1st, and Blaise Ilsley pitching. I walked, loading the bases.
Lonnie Smith grounded to short, and the got the runner at home.
Ryan flew out and we left them loaded.

Bobby Thigpen took the mound for us in the 9th.
He gave up a leadoff single but gout out of it without giving up a run.

We won again!

I went 0 for 3 with a sac fly, a walk, and an RBI.

The Reds beat the Astros, 5-0.

We are going into the last day in a dead heat.
