Well, my point on being stuck with LTMs is that taking the top players (or bottom players) likely doesn't produce the same talent in different areas as that which produced the LTMs.
Let's call the talent of the original full list of players 100. Hitting, pitching, and fielding are all 100.
Now let's create a league of star players. The talent of that selection might be hitting 160, pitching 140, and fielding 90. But LTM calculations will make them all 100. That wouldn't matter if they were all 150 or 130 or whatever. But it does matter since they're not all the same.
