We're going the distance!
With their backs to the wall, the Rays relied on their two best players to rescue them from elimination and force a Game 7 in the World Series, and
Wander Franco and
Adley Rutschman came through in a 9-2 rout of St. Louis at Tropicana Field. Immediately responding after St. Louis tied it up with a pair of runs in the top of the 3rd, Franco tripled home
Jarren Duran and two batters later Rutschman went deep to make it 5-2 and Tampa Bay was on its way.
Heston Kjerstad got them on the board in the 2nd with a 2-run HR after a Cardinal error kept the inning alive and
Heliot Ramos later added a 3-run shot to blow it open.
Joe Ryan came up big when we needed him, and aside from that shaky 3rd inning he was excellent over his 7 innings. So now it's down to one game for all the marbles tomorrow night with Tyler Glasnow taking the mound.
