Walkers news: Oct. 28 -- Tiburcio announces his retirement
St. Louis River Walkers starting pitcher Angel Tiburcio has announced his retirement after spending 10 seasons with the team, beginning in 2026 after he was acquired in a trade with Twin Cities.
After spending the 2036 season in the bullpen, Tiburcio settled into being one of the best starting pitchers in the Midwest Baseball League.
Tiburcio won the National League Cy Young award in 2028 (17-4, 2.71 ERA),2029 (15-11, 2.74) and 2031 (10-9, 2.88).
His final three seasons were marred by injuries, including a torn rotator cuff in the 2036 spring training which prevented him from returning to the mound.
For his career in St. Louis, Tiburcio went 83-67 in 298 total games with a 3.64 ERA.
