New to posting in the forum, but not new to OOTP. Decided to put together a Historical game with teams from each decade.
Here are the specifics:
-14 teams divided into 2 sub-divisions:
Golden League: Pre1890s, 1890s, 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s
Modern League: 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s
-Random debut league
-1987 locked settings for style of play, no financials
-DH allowed (hate the DH, but wanted more hitters to play)
-Rosters include 13 position players (2 catchers) and 12 pitchers (at least 5 SP, but no limit on # of SP). Reserve roster (no limit).
-Initial draft: 25 rounds. To be drafted, the player must have played in at least 5 years in the team's decade or played the majority of time in that decade, if less than 5. (This was a labor of love)
-Subsequent drafts: Six rounds held on December 15. To be drafted (or signed as a FA) by the team, player must have played at least one year in that team's decade. Full disclosure, I draft the first 3 rounds manually, auto-draft the rest and then clean up the rosters after and use free agency to add additional players.
-Active rosters determined by # of stars overall. Use personal judgment to make tiebreaking decisions. Lineups/Depth Charts and Pitching Staff determined by Bench Coach.
-Sim everything as the commish controlling all teams (no trades to keep players in their decade)
