Star of the Week Named in NCA: Frank Corsica must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .429 pace, then the Sunshine Tidings first baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award.
Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Corsica quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it."
It was a good week's work for Corsica. He hit .429 average (9-for-21) with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs.
For the season Corsica has produced 53 hits in 182 at-bats for a .291 average with 8 home runs and gotten on base at a .342 clip.
South Charles Association Names Laughy Best Batter: Ricky Ticky Laughy demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award.
The Oberland center fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .467 average (7-for-15) with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.
This year Laughy has collected a .306 batting average to date with 52 hits in 170 at-bats, 47 RBIs, 15 home runs and scored 38 times. He has played in 45 games.

CA Player of the Week Awarded: 24-year-old Man Chee made a few Taffington Boathouse headlines during this past week as the rookie second baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Commonwealth Association officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 9 hits in 18 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Chee collected 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
This year Chee is batting .286 with 26 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 12 times and has batted in 20 runs.
MA Names Best Player: Veteran Matt Planterman had a great week at the plate for the Robobrains to capture the majority of votes for Player of the Week in the Massachusetts Association.
The 33-year-old Vault 95 right fielder built a .500 average on the strength of 8 hits in 16 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs.
