The trouble is that ultimately it's an RNG game, the format just doesn't account for anything more subtle despite the OOTP base engine. I've tried a lot of combinations to ease the tedium of my seemingly perpetual .53-.59 both in players and tactics, and a lot of them ARE 'playable'.. but, never quite AS playable as my default which is, of course, much the same as everybody else's, any metas aside.
I can't see any way around this when everybody has access to the same player pool. You can only really present a 'baseball' rather than 'card collecting' game in the same way the base game and real life does, with each player available to only one team. Any nonsense with NFTs aside - at which point the likes of you and I would drop the game as if it was an enraged anaconda - the format can't accommodate that.
