Loyd (4-2) scattered four hits -- three singles and a double -- over six scoreless innings.
He struck out eight and didn't issue a walk.
Three relievers, Mike Haney, Danny Patino and Brian Dowdy, allowed just one base runner while handling an inning apiece.
Dowdy earned his seventh save.
The game's lone run came in the top of the seventh when Mike Sartain and Daniel Sanabria hit back-to-back doubles off River Walkers starting pitcher Xavier Wigfall to open the inning.
