Back to even...
The Rays needed a win tonight to avoid going down 3-1, and Josh Alexander answered the call, homering twice, doubling, driving in 3 and scoring 4 times to the lead the offense in a 7-0 win to even the ALCS at 2. Jim Brophy wasn't bad either, getting out of early jams with key strikeouts and pitching 6 shutout innings in his Rays playoff debut. Sean Forbes finished nicely for his first playoff save as well. The series is now assured of going back to Tampa for Game 6, and Brad Jackson will try to give us a leg up when that happens.
In the NLCS:
A brilliant outing from likely NL Cy Young winner Michiyo Hamada, who went 5 1/3 innings of 1-hit ball to get the Giants up in the series.
