Josh McDonald took a shutout into the eighth inning and the St. Louis bullpen finished it off as the River Walkers downed Green Bay 3-0 at Busch Stadium (2006).
McDonald (2-5) didn't allow a run over 7.1 innings before exiting with one out in the top of the eighth.
Devon Reyna led off the top of the eighth for the Mallards with a single.
McDonald then walked Austin Clayton before getting Alberto Landaverde to ground out.
In his time on the mound, McDonald allowed five hits (four singles and a double) while striking out one and walking three.
With two runners on, Brett McVey replaced McDonald and retired Blaze Jordan (strike out) and Jim Moorman (fly out) to end the inning.
Bobby Westerman set Green Bay down in order in the ninth for his 11th save.
Rookie center fielder Mark Waterson drove in all three of the Walkers runs.
Waterson hit a two-run homer off Mallards starting pitcher John Haynes in the fourth inning.
In the sixth, Waterson tripled off Jesse Gaither to score Manuel Coke who had singled off Haynes.
