Minor League Report

BMU

DeYoe Punishes CA Pitchers This Week: So far in his young career, Ralph DeYoe has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Commonwealth Association in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.

The 22-year-old Greentop Nursery Night People center fielder hit at a torrid .474 clip as he collected 9 hits in 19 at-bats, 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

MA Announces Player of the Week: Michaelangelo Sandifer has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 23-year-old right fielder of the Natick Banks Big Leaguers had a hot bat in the Massachusetts Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.

Sandifer batted .615 with 8 hits in 13 at-bats, 6 home runs and 14 RBIs.

It's Official -- Trinity Plaza Fires Pinkerton as Manager: Critics and second-guessers of Bill Pinkerton can rejoice -- his tenure in Trinity Plaza is over. He was fired as the Snipers manager today.

According to one player, who requested anonymity, the decision was long overdue.

"I never really agreed with his decisions and I think he's cost us a lot of games with the way he manages," the player said. "I like Bill as a person, but as a manager I don't think he's the right person to run this baseball team."

When told of the anonymous comment, Pinkerton took the high road.

"I don't really need to get into a war of words with someone, I have no comment on that. Basically, the front office has made their decision and that's that. No discussion needed," he said.
