Walkers news: August 2 -- St. Louis 13, Grand Rapids 2

Record: 54-45, 1st, 4 GA Des Moines
St. Louis bludgeoned Grand Rapids with 21 hits -- including a pair of home runs from rookie Mark Waterson -- as the River Walkers routed the Traders 13-2 at Busch Stadium (2006).
The victory gave St. Louis victories in three of four games in the series.
Waterson's first homer of the game, leading off the bottom of the second against Grand Rapids starting pitcher Mark MacDougall, put the Walkers ahead 1-0.
But after that, the runs came in bunches.
St. Louis two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, four in the seven and three in the eighth.
Waterson finished the game 3 for 4 with two homers, three RBIs and four runs scored.
Eddie Estrella, getting a rare chance to bat lead off, was 3 for 6 with three RBIs.
Jordan Quinto, making a start at shortstop, was 4 for 5 with a run scored and four RBIs.
Chris Duncan, who filled in for Marcos Francis at second, was 3 for 5 with three runs scored and an RBI.
Jackson Miller was 2 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI.
Not to mention the strong mound outing from Jesse McNaboe.
McNaboe (5-7) allowed one run on one hit over seven innings. He struck out four and walked two.
Ron Cox pitched the final two innings of the lopsided win.
