Walkers news: August 15 -- Cintron placed on IL; Pendleton called up from AAA
The St. Louis River Walkers have placed left-handed reliever Aramando Cintron on the 10-day injured list after he left their 9-0 loss to Cedar Rapids on August 14 with back stiffness.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis for the second time this season is left-handed reliever Mark Pendleton.
It is the second trip to the IL in a little over a month for Cintron, who was out of action for 10 days beginning on July 9 with an elbow injury.
Cinton, 34, has pitched in 38 games this season for St. Louis going 2-0 with five saves and a 2.36 ERA.
Pendleton received the first call to the majors of his career when Cintron got hurt in July.
He pitched in just one inning of one game.
This season at AAA, Pendleton is 0-1 with a 4.85 ERA in 23 games.
