CBO Players of the Month
NCA's Top Hitter Selected: Fort Hagen Silver Shroud fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in August.
Ben Pawlak put up a remarkable month at the age of 24 and has been named the North Charles Association Batter of the Month.
For the month, Pawlak hit .461 with 4 home runs, 16 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
This season Pawlak is swinging the bat at a .346 rate with 145 hits in 419 at-bats. To date he has hit 22 home runs, scored 88 runs and driven in 70.
Vault 81's Bather Chosen SCA Batter of the Month: Vault 81 Dwellers fans believe they've got a talented young star in Knud Bather.
He did nothing to dissuade that notion in August, as he hit .414 with 12 home runs, 26 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
The end result was the shortstop being named the South Charles Association Batter of the Month.
In the 2301 season Bather is hitting .286 with 27 home runs.
North Charles Association Selects #1 Starter in August: The elite pitcher this past month in the North Charles Association was Brad Westing of the Abernathy Adamantium. He stood head and shoulders above the rest, finishing August with an extraordinary 5-0 record and a 2.35 ERA.
The Adamantium star hurler made 6 starts and surrendered 42 hits in 46 innings. He struck out 29 and walked 22.
His record this season is 13-9 in 27 starts and Westing has a 4.01 ERA.
Taguchi Chosen August's Best SCA Hurler: When Scruffy Taguchi takes the hill, chances are good for a Atom victory. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 4-1 mark and 1.51 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 47.2 innings, fanned 37 and held others clubs to a .215 average.
That's why the Cats star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the South Charles Association.
In 26 starts this year Taguchi has fashioned a 13-7 record and a 3.23 ERA.
Red-Hot County Crossing Rookie Rated NCA's Best: In August, Aimer Doghair was tops in his class!
The County Crossing first-year pitcher put up some super stats and has been voted the North Charles Association Rookie of the Month.
He made 6 starts, logged 45.1 innings, struck out 21 and compiled a 4.57 ERA. He finished the month with a 3-2 record and held opposing teams to a .286 batting average.
Doghair has made 11 starts this season, posting 6 wins and 6 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .285 against him and he has 47 strikeouts in 101 innings with a 4.37 ERA.
August's #1 SCA Rookie Named: The Rookie of the Month Award has been announced and the South Charles Association winner is University Point hurler, Wilson Beachball. For his standout performances in August he has been named the league's best rookie.
During the month, Beachball excelled with a 2.86 ERA and 4 wins and 2 losses. In 44 innings he struck out 23 and gave up 31 hits and 19 walks.
This year Beachball has a 20-5 record with a 3.16 ERA.
BMU Players of the Month
CA Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Noggin: The premier hitter in the Commonwealth Association in August was Everett first baseman Josh Noggin. For his standout play, he was voted the Batter of the Month.
Noggin was selected after batting .327, hitting 7 home runs, scoring 16 runs and driving in 19.
This season Noggin is swinging the bat at a .337 pace. He has hit 11 home runs and scored 23 times, while driving in 31. His on-base percentage is .430 and he has played in 51 games.
MA's Best Batter Selected: Even though he is a newcomer to Boston Minor Union, Kern Rifleman put up some good numbers in August and earned the MA Batter of the Month award.
He was one of Cabot House's offensive leaders with a .442 average in 14 games. He also racked up 9 home runs, 25 RBIs, and 15 runs scored.
For the season Rifleman is currently batting .414 with 31 home runs and 79 RBIs. In 49 games he has reached base at a .487 rate and scored 59 runs to date.
Everett Starter Selected Best Pitcher: The Pitcher of the Month Award in August has been selected and the Commonwealth Association honor went to Everett hurler, Elijah Robinson. For his excellent performance he has been named the league's top pitcher.
During the month, Robinson was superb with a 1.48 ERA and 2 wins and no losses. In 24.1 innings he struck out 12 and gave up 18 hits and 6 walks.
This season in 16 starts Elijah Robinson has a record of 5-8 with 56 strikeouts in 92 innings and a 5.87 ERA.
Failure Acclaimed Top Pitcher in August: Over the past month Roger Failure has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Massachusetts Association. He proved all that and now he's been named August's Pitcher of the Month.
The rookie for the Forest Grove Pugilists posted 3-1 mark and a 2.03 ERA. In 4 starts he tossed 31 innings, permitted 20 hits and fanned 20 batters.
To this point in the season Failure has 8 wins and 3 losses and a 4.64 ERA.
GBRL Players of the Month
DeVita Takes NL's Best Bat Award: Perry DeVita put together a good August to earn the North League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Outpost Zimonja officials that he belongs on the big league roster.
The Strongbacks shortstop posted a .352 batting average with 7 home runs, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
DeVita is hitting .221 so far this season with 36 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 59 hits including 11 home runs, 25 walks and .293 OBP.
SL Honors Cardinal, Best Hitter in August: When Orcin Cardinal stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the South League Batter of the Month award.
The young Poseidon Energy right fielder posted a .294 batting average with 7 home runs, 21 RBIs and scored 11 runs. Cardinal also worked pitchers for 12 walks to post a .429 on-base percentage.
Thus far this year Cardinal is batting .291 with 25 home runs, 70 RBIs and 56 runs scored.
Sanctuary Hills Starter Named NL's Best Pitcher: The top-rated pitcher this past month in the North League was Trooper Neilan of the Sanctuary Hills Zetans. He really dominated league hitters, finishing August with a 4-0 won-lost mark and a 1.07 ERA.
The Zetans ace made 4 starts and surrendered 13 hits in 33.2 innings. He struck out 43 and walked 11.
Checking out his stats for the season, Neilan has registered 12 wins and 4 losses in 16 starts, 2.08 ERA and struck out 154 batters in 129.2 innings.
August's Best Hurler in SL is Lesh: The Pitcher of the Month for August has been picked and the South League award went to Atomatoys Factory hurler, Justin Lesh.
During the month, Lesh was impressive with a 0.28 ERA and 4 wins and no losses. In 32.2 innings he struck out 28 and gave up 21 hits and 13 walks.
Checking out his stats for the season, Lesh has notched 8 wins and 9 losses in 18 starts, 4.90 ERA and struck out 102 batters in 141.1 innings.
