Cats Hammered by Grime, Drop Game 3 to Swatters
The Diamond City Swatters have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Atom Cats, winning 11-5 at Coolest Field in Town today. Swatters left fielder Cody Grime was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. The win cuts the deficit facing the Swatters to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal.
Diamond City relied on the hitting of Oren Gep to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Swatters on top, 3-0. For the game, Gep had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I like easy wins," Grime told the Diamond City Herald. "And easy wins in the playoffs are even better."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coolest Field in Town in Boston.
Game 4: Atom 5, Diamond City 3
