Walkers news: Jan. 21 -- Free agent pitchers Miguel Cisenros and Jesse Gaither agree to deals
The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of free agent right-handed pitcher Miguel Cisneros and Jesse Gaither.
Cisneros, 35, will take one of the spots in the starting rotation created by the free agent departures of Josh McDonald and Jesse McNaboe.
Cisneros, who has spent his entire career with Rockford, went 12-8 with a 4.38 ERA in 32 starts last season for the Lightning.
For his career, Cisneros has pitched in 304 games (264) starts and gone 75-88 with two saves and a 4.96 ERA.
Gaither, 34, comes to the Walkers after spending most of the season with Green Bay before later pitching two games for Detroit.
For the season, Gaither was 1-1 with one save and a 6.10 ERA in 42 games.
In his career, Gaither, who also has pitched for Twin Cities, Cleveland and Evansville, has gotten into 701 games (all in relief) and gone 46-42 with 152 saves and a 4.12 ERA.
Cisneros contract is worth $8 million per year over three seasons.
Gaither's deal is worth $2.56 million per year and covers two seasons.
The last season of both contracts features a team option.
