You are correct that Marc Okkonen used this image for his book, 2000 CUPS OF COFFEE. I have his files for that book which consist of 8 x 11 sheets of paper with the image mock-ups pasted onto those sheets. For the Herrmann image, he has a notation that it's 1913 Cincy, which I assume means the player is pictured in a 1913 Cincinnati sandlot team uniform. There aren't any more clues to the image origin beyond that.
