I think that some of it for pop flies to the short infield is that the animations used to show the ball go way up in the air and take forever to come down. Speaking of, still not seeing these animations:
- foul-outs to catcher directy behind the plate
- foul-outs near the dugouts (I realize that different field sizes / junk being there in some parks might make this look wonky, but I personally would rather see the wonkiness at first at least)
- Any kind of foul-outs to the outfield (I realize the game effect of a fair and a foul fly out to the OF is the same but you can always tell if an OF is about to commit an error when he goes into foul territory)

I've had foul-outs near the dugouts, I'm 100% sure, with proper animation.
