Interesting trade involving prospects between Brooklyn and Portland
The Portland Wild Things continue to gather some younger talent while unloading older arms.
In yesterday's trade with the Brooklyn Aces they received a promising defense-first catcher Frankie Rodriguez. Granted, he isn't that young (29) but he has yet to get a chance to have a full season's worth of play, and while he might not in Portland either, who have a very similar starting catcher in Danny Morales (who is also team captain), he is certainly a better fit on the team than the veteran relief pitcher, Jonathan Williams, who was sent along to Brooklyn.
On the other hand, Brooklyn netted a guy who could become one of the most dangerous designated hitters in 22-year old Roger Rhinehart. So ultimately, maybe this wasn't the best move by Portland.
