Andrew Litteral has arguably been the premiere catcher of this generation other than L.A.'s Jason Ott and now he is a member of the last-place St. Louis Redbirds, where he hopes to bring some winning culture.
Perhaps more importantly for MGL West opponents, this marks yet another key player from the San Francisco Velocity roster who has left the club via free agency in this offseason (Cameron Olsen having gone to L.A. and veteran reliever Joe Hall to Columbus). Although they have picked up a few useful players through trades this offseason (veteran first baseman Tyler Stockett from Philly and very recently veteran catcher, and former Brewer, Erik Bettencourt from Montreal), on balance at this stage of the offseason they look like a diminished club.
