Brewers minor league outfield prospect Dave Wofford has now hit in 30 straight games for the AAA Chester Big Stick (well named) of the King Bedlecom League.
In the WPK, veteran great and team captain Jose Gutierrez of the El Paso Dawgs has now hit in 20 straight games. The Dawgs are off to a decent 23-19 start and in second place in the SJL West, 3 games behind division leader Chicago.
There was an interesting trade made in the MGL yesterday, as the Phoenix Speed Devils, who already have the best defense in the MGL added excellent gloveman (and light hitter) Jim Cleveland in a trade with Detroit. Cleveland has a sparkplug mentality, great speed and base running skills, and is Gold Glove caliber defensively at second base and near that if not that at short and third as well. Detroit does get a potential potent designated hitter in 20-year old Bobby McQueen, who ostensibly is a first baseman but whose carrying tool is definitely his bat, particular his home run power potential.
