The Brewers had a strong May, going 20-9, and clearly the starting rotation is doing much better in 1986 than in '85.
Jim Atwell is having something of a comeback season,
Eric Maisch is at least trending in the right direction, and the youngsters
Stephen Brooks and
Eric Fehrenbacher have mostly held their own and at times been quite brilliant.
The bullpen, particularly the trio of
Dan Folk,
Willie Ramirez, and
Paul Johnson, has been tremendous.
Young
Gene "Basher" Brasher is making a real case for increased playing time, hitting .315/.361/.694 and leading the club in homeruns with 12 in just 123 plate appearances.
