A solid enough start with the usual ups and downs common to the start of every season. A bit of rust on Bill Foster but he hurls a shutout in his final start for the month so hopefully that’s been scraped away now. El Diablo going magnificently, XX seems to be settling in, and Duke Derringer wins the Rookie award. We finish at 10-6.

Jim Bottomley - who has flown out of the gates - and Hack Wilson both reach the 200 HR mark, while Kiki Cuyler gets his 1500th career hit.
