Clearly the class outfit in the FC National, the West can only beat themselves this season is how I see it. Dwayne Murphy was a nice pickup for them, as was Francisco Cordova - and both will only improve what was already a very strong and balanced group. Robert "Highpockets" Hudspeth is another interesting type, but with Big Papi firmly entrenched at 1B and both only able to play that one position, I'm not quite sure how he fits in here. Were he to be traded for a strong 3B or OF, this club would plug one of its few gaps.

Nothing is guaranteed in baseball, and this is by no means a squad that can take success for granted. But if they play to their appropriate talent level I see them doing it pretty easy.

1st in the FC National.
