The Petes ultimately managed to finish 1st overall in the Ontario Hockey League this year. The team's record for the year was 49-14-5, setting a new team record for wins in a season. Coming up now is the first round of the playoffs against the Mississauga Steelheads, the team we traded Mason McTavish to in the 2022 offseason. The Steelheads have floundered this year and they just barely qualified for the playoffs this year. McTavish has struggled mightily as he has been unhappy playing at the OHL level and his production dropped significantly. The Steelheads have another star player in Luca Del Bel Belluz who scored nearly 100 points, and both he and McTavish will need to play out of their mind to solve the Petes who have an abundance of depth for a young team and the most dynamic top line in the league with leading scorer Luke Misa leading the way.
