Here is a snapshot of the Leagues, with a few February highlights that will be featured in the End of the Regular Season league reports:
• Which pitcher came within one out of throwing a perfect game?
• Who became the 15th player in ULB history to hit 3 home runs in a game?
• February was a month for both hot and cold streaks. On the hot side of things, the Embro Suns won ten straight games (in a 15-2 stretch that started in late January). And the Queensland Eagles helped their playoff chances with both a 6-game and an 8-game winning streak during a 17-2 run that also started in the last days of January. On the flip side, the Cambria Cannons finished the month of January with a 7-game winning streak. But as soon as the calendar turned to February, they went 12 straight games without a victory. That has knocked them out of the wild card spot, at least for time being.
