OK, so it was a dumb question. Yes, I just didn't realize that the pregame listing of players is not the lineup, but rather a list by player position for comparison purposes. I just never noticed that before. So the lineups I set are indeed being used in the games. You just don't see them till you jump to the actual 3D Game screen.
