There have been two no-hitters hurled in the WPK so far in the 1986 season and both have been thrown by Seattle Alligator starter Chris Karstens. (For reasons unknown to this author, Karstens nickname is "No Hands". But perhaps soon it will No Hits.)




The Denver Brewers, coming off an 8-game winning streak, have now lost 2 games in a row at home to the Oklahoma City Diamond Kings. And in yesterday's loss they also saw 4 players have to leave the game early due to injuries. They have already learned that catcher Omari Williams injury is minor (bruised shoulder) and he should be ready to play in a few days. Reliver Willie Ramirez was diagnosed as having a tired arm and will head to the 14-day IL, with 23-year old relief prospect Cesar Perez being called up from AAA for his first taste of the WPK to take his place on the active roster. Left fielder Javier Hernandez is day-to-day with forearm soreness and not expected to be placed on the IL, but will likely have a more limited role for the next week. But with the team still waiting on a diagnosis for Myles Ford, outfield reinforcement from AAA may be needed soon.
